A chance to develop your skills and knowledge of Scottish Ski Touring.

We have teamed up with British Backcountry to offer members a Ski Touring Journey Day.  The days are an opportunity to join a small group of ski tourers and discover new terrain while covering ski touring skills along the way. We tailer the day to the needs of the group and will be in charge of the safety of the group and navigation, so you can relax and enjoy the tour.

If you can confidently ski a red run and have a decent level of fitness it is possible to learn (or refresh) ski touring skills on a mountain journey. The key skills are covered while on the move.

Backcountry Skiing Scotland – simply the best.

No under 15’s and children between 15 – 18 can attend if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Scotland offers some remarkable ski touring opportunities. It takes patience, preparation, flexibility and an open mind; but when it is good it can be as good as anywhere.

Equipment: You will need to bring your own ski boots (any will do), a rucksack big enough to carry an avalanche shovel, probe, skins, your spare clothing, your packed lunch and water. The British Backcountry team have full ski touring set ups but availability depends on the requirements of the group.
