Skiing

Rules

Please Slope Rules download and read slope rules before your first visit to the slope. They must be adhered to at all times.

It is mandatory due to Health & Safety Regulations that all skiers wear gloves, full length trousers and long sleeves. In addition it is recommended that you wear waterproof trousers and jacket.

Instruction

Lessons provided cater for all ages from 5 years, with ability levels ranging from beginners through to race training with groups not exceeding 10. Children's beginner groups do not exceed 6 in number. Lessons are available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and are arranged on an hourly basis: 7:00 - 8:00 and 8:00 - 9:00 pm. It is advisable to arrive at RM Condor half an hour before your booked session.  Download a lesson booking form here Arbroath Ski Club Lesson Booking Form - Season 2010-11.doc

Recreational Skiing

The minimum standards for recreational skiing on the slope are:

  • The ability to make linked turns and to ski from the top of the slope to the bottom in full control
  • The ability to use the ski tows

If you are unable to meet the above standards, lessons must be taken prior to using the slope. If you have any doubt about your ability level, please seek guidance from an instructor.

Regrettably, snow boarding is not allowed on the slope.

Please remember: demand for lessons frequently exceeds capacity and we operate a waiting list at most times.

Both recreational skiing and lessons must be booked in advance and this can be done by filling in a Lesson Request Form lesson request form or by contacting lessons coordinator, Hazel Cairns. Current rates are:

  • Skiing with instruction - £32 per four week block ( 1 hour sessions)
  • Recreational Skiing - £24 per four week block ( 1 hour sessions)

Please note: Payment for lessons and recreational skiing must be made on the first Tuesday or Thursday of the block booked.

Included in the above cost is the hire of skis, boots and helmets. Skiers may use their own boots and helmets if they wish but only skis and poles from RM Condor can be used on the slope. There is no reduction to the above rates where skiers use their own equipment.
