[20/01/12] Arbroath Ski Club - Annual Snow Races - 25 February 2012
Following the last two years' very successful races held at Glenshee, we will once again be holding the Arbroath Ski Club Giant Slalom and Fun Races this year. These will be held at Glenshee on Saturday 25 February, weather and snow conditions permitting, and the two races we are running are:
Giant Slalom
This is through the gates and will take place on the Cairnwell GS Course with Glenshee staff in attendance, timing gates etc. Access is via the Cairnwell T Bar lift.
Fun Race
This will take place on the piste adjacent to the Claybokie drag lift and is for those who don't want to go through the giant slalom course.
Categories for entry are:
Bairns
Born 2001 and later
Children
Born 1997 – 2000
Juniors
Born 1992 – 1996
Seniors
Born 1991 and earlier
This is an open race, however prizes and starting priority will be given to Arbroath Ski Club members only. If you wish to participate please email David Treger, Race Convenor - david.treger@btinternet.com. For all entries, other than those in the Seniors category, please include the date of birth for each person wishing to participate.
We will meet on Saturday 25 February in the Cairnwell Cafe, by the carpark, at 9am, and registration and bibs will be issued here. The entry fee for the Giant Slalom Race is £5 for adults and £2 for children and the Fun Race is free entry. Please remember to bring your ASC membership card with you on the day to qualify for your 10% lift pass discount.
ASC members can hire skis, boots and helmets from RM Condor for the event, please ask in the Ski Hut on Tuesday or Thursday evenings for more information.
For those who stay and ski in the afternoon, we will be heading to the Spittal of Glenshee for an apres drink or two at the end of the day.
